Is yoga dangerous?

Posted on September 29th, 2006 under Ashtanga Diary

If you stabbed your own hand with your toe nail while jumping through in a vinyasa, then yeah, I guess it could be. Yeah, I’m clutsy like that. There’s no broken skin like last time… yes… this is not the first time I’ve been *special*, but the bruise is already starting to show.

So I made it to my mat again after a missed practice yesterday. As usual these days, nothing that special to report. I got my sloppy touchless vinyasa once again, just the one. Tried a few times to reproduce it and failed, just like the last practice.

Got my toes to cross in supta k… does that count? I’m guessing not. Got a wrist bind though, which slowly slipped away during the five breaths. Damned moisturiser!

I’m done for the day. I just want to kick back and fall into a coma. I almost didn’t want to come out of shavasana, but I was sweaty and wanted a shower, if not for that, I would have slept in the exercise room tonight.

Hey, I have a couple of little scars on my right wrist where I’ve stabbed myself with a toenail jumping through more than once! Welcome to the Klutz club!

Lol, glad to hear I’m not the only one! I have scars on my foot from mat burn too.

I also kicked my wrist jumping through once, I had a bruise for over a week, it looked like someone had grabbed me. Yoga bumps and bruises :)
